What we built

MedAI is a healthcare platform designed to connect patients, providers, staff, and administrators through AI-powered workflows. The platform combines voice and text intake, SOAP note generation, appointment scheduling, prescription refill requests, and EHR integration into a unified healthcare experience.

Our Approach

How we solved it

We developed the platform around connected AI and healthcare workflows, bringing patient communication, clinical documentation, scheduling, and EHR connectivity into one system.

Built a Next.js frontend with Node/FastAPI backend architecture
Implemented secure authentication and role-based access for Provider, Patient, Staff, and Admin users
Created PostgreSQL database structure with migrations and demo data
Developed AI intake workflows for voice and text interactions
Integrated Whisper for real-time voice transcription
Integrated Twilio for voice and SMS communication
Added AI-generated SOAP notes tailored for clinical relevance
Connected the platform with Athenahealth, DrChrono, and Elation for EHR workflows
Implemented appointment scheduling and prescription refill workflows
Prepared HIPAA-compliant AWS production infrastructure with TLS, backups, and monitoring
